Why We Built This Site
Pennsylvania gives the public access to many court records, but Allegheny County records are split by court level and division. The Department of Court Records Civil/Family Division performs the former Prothonotary functions for civil and family filings. The Criminal Division handles criminal case files. The Wills/Orphans' Court Division handles probate, estate, adoption, guardianship, and marriage-record functions. Lower-court records may sit with Magisterial District Courts or Pittsburgh Municipal Court. Statewide docket sheets also appear through the Pennsylvania Unified Judicial System, so the right path depends on the case type.

- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
